Assessment & Accountability

TEXAS ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS (TEKS)

  • The State Board of Education has adopted a curriculum for all Texas schools called the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). These learning standards identify what students should know and be able to do at every grade level in every foundation and enrichment course. Kenedy Independent School District has designed a district curriculum that includes all of the learning standards outlined in the TEKS. If you would like to view individual standards for your child, you can visit the Texas Education Agency or talk to your child’s teacher(s).

Beginning in 2015-16, the Texas Education Agency began issuing the Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR), which compiled a wide range of information on the performance of students in each school and district in Texas every year. Performance is shown disaggregated by student groups, including ethnicity and low-income status. The reports also provide extensive information on school and district staff, programs, and student demographics. Prior to the 2015-16 school year, performance reporting for schools and districts was known as the Academic Excellence Indicator System (AEIS).

The most recent Accountability Summary reports and TAPR from the Texas Education Agency are provided below.
